We hope you enjoy our Dobermans & Wheatens as much as we do.   Here is a

little story about how this love affair with purebred dogs began.

Originally from Scotland, Frank and his late wife Elizabeth moved to Canada in

1969.  Frank's mother had been raising & showing Standard Smooth & Long

Haired Dachschunds for many years.  Elizabeth was a professional groomer and

raised Labrador Retrievers & Miniature Poodles.  Shortly after arriving in Canada

it was decided to have a larger breed of dog and the St. bernard was chosen.

By 1973 Garshangan Kennels was established.  Over the next few years many

St. Bernards were shown to their championship and in 1984 the "goal" was

reached by winning the National Specialty with a "home-grown" Smooth female

St. Bernard.  that year the Labrador Retriever came back into the kennel with

purchase of Balcroft Ovation Garshangan from Balcroft Kennels. 

Shortly after that a male Labrador was aquired from the extremely successful

Ebonylane Kennels.  He became Can Ch. Ebonylane's Denis V Garshangan (a.k.a. Dennis) who was from Am. Can. Ch.

Hollyhock's Sam ex Am. Can. CH.Ebonylane's Uptown Girl CD.  After driving

around the country in Frank's van for many years Dennis passed at the age of 14

years.

Meanwhile Frank's wife being a groomer with a passion for smaller long-haired

dogs, Elizabeth decided to look for another breed, and a wheaten was brought in

from Angie Debruyn's Mariner Kennels.  This dog was Mariner's Ailish

Garshangan and she lived to be 16years old.

Through all the years in a busy 'doggy' house there was one 'other' breed that

seemed to 'hang around' and that was the Doberman Pinscher. Every Dobe in the

KW area that needed help seemed to find it's way to Frank & Liz's door. 

As the breeding of St. Bernards started to wind down the Doberman began to find

it's way into the Wright's hearts.  Upon aquiring Murmar's Olivia V Garshangan

the Wright's started to compete in Obedience & produce the occasional litter.of

Dobermans.  The Queen of the house for 12 1/2 years was Olivia's daughter

Garshangan's Daddy's Girl CD, CGC.  She was Frank's co-pilot in the van for all

these years.  Xena produced 2 litters.  The first was sired by Can CH. A'Mondes

Volcano.   This breeding produced 2 champions & 2 Companion Dog Degrees, Ch.

Garshangan's Cover Girl & Ch. Garshangan's Red Hot Chili Pepa CD. &

Garshangan's Red Baron CD, CGN.  Her second litter sired by Ch. Liberator's

Valentino produced 4 champions, Ch. Garshangan's Legendary Torque,

Ch. Garshangan's Cassandra, Ch Garshangan's Next Top Model & 

Ch. Garshangan's Legendary Dyna.  We have since bred to Ch .

Liberator's Without Remorse, Ch. Wrath's Soldier of Fortune, Ch. Liberator's

Saratoga with much success.  Recently we have added some European blood to 

add some new blood to the mix. 

We will also be returning to our Obedience roots with a couple of dogs in 2011

Ch. Garshangan's Legendary Dyna CGN & her son Garshangan's Union Jack.
